In March, I wrote 23 posts. So many, that at least 2 people complained that I had to slow down so they could catch up. Well, apparently, I did. I wrote only 15 posts in April and 10 in May.
So, where have I been?
It all really started in March. I volunteered to teach two electives at Jackson’s school. The first was the usual Publications elective. The second was Walking. I didn’t so much teach that one as I did herd cats.
The first week of April, we had Spring Break. If you know me, you know that “break” doesn’t really mean “break.” It means “time to go see all the friends I can’t see during school.”
Then 4H started to heat up in anticipation of the County Fair. (I owe you all a post about 4H.) We had our Showmanship Clinic and Field Day, and then began to practice rabbit showmanship.
My Aunt Carol came to visit.
Cassie had her first (non-emergency) dentist visit.
Jackson’s school held their annual Walk-a-thon.
Jackson’s school had their annual Young Author’s Night.
April also started the Memory Book meetings – weekly, then twice weekly, then thrice weekly meetings at the Memory Book chair’s house to put together ACA II’s Memory Book.
ACA II did their “STAR Testing” week, so we had the 4 Days of Play in May – 4 days of field trips. I chaperoned 2. The decision to chaperone the 3+ mile hike around Contra Loma Reservoir will forever be one of my worst ever.
ACA II had their annual Silent Auction.
We did have Mother’s Day in there.
Then the Publications elective published its newspaper… but I did talk about that a bit.
My sister came to visit.
ACA II held its Showcase of the Arts, in which Jackson got his next belt (orange) in personal safety. (American Shaolin Kenpo)
We hung out with Great-Grandma and Grandpa Bob every Sunday night.
We went to the San Jose Taco Festival with some new friends.
Jackson started selling World’s Finest Chocolate for 4H. (And he’s still doing it, so if you’re local – buy some chocolate!)
Grandma Sandy came to visit.
We attended all 4 days of the County Fair! (A mega-post is planned.)
Jackson “bridged” from a Tiger to a Wolf in Cub Scouts.
Finally, June 6 was the last day of school!
Oh, and in there I was trying to get a job, getting a part time job, sort of, then getting another one, and training for them both… more on that later.
Wish me luck this summer. I’m going to need it.
