The Office

This time, the title of the post does not refer to a TV show. I’m finally revealing our new addition – literally – our new home office!

I last posted on February 10, 2011.

Here’s a day-by-day view of how we got to the beautiful, wonderful, useful room you’ll see at the end (and if you ever visit my house).

Back of the House

February 11, 2011

It probably took Stanley a week to build the deck.

Dining Room

Dining Room, February 12, 2011

We couldn’t use the dining room for almost two weeks because of the fumes from the drywall and spray texture.

Back Room

February 14, 2011

See? Now it’s a room! The cats were very confused the whole time the construction was going on.

The deck is finished!

Paint and Flooring

February 20, 2011

After the drywall and texture dried, we – that is, Max – could paint. The office is Major Blue, I think, from Sherwin-Williams.

The painting is done, so the floor was started.

Jack and Half a Floor

February 22 or 23, 2011

We came home to find that Max had put in half of the floor.

Light and a Fan!

February 23, 2011

Then, one day, we had light…

A Fan!

February 24, 2011

and a fan! And a floor too!

Robyn's Desk

February 25, 2011

So we could move in…

all of our stuff…

Unpacking

February 27, 2011

OK, mostly my stuff.

And finally, after another month of getting everything just right…

Welcome to our office!

We have Levelor, cordless, double-cell blinds on all of the windows and the back door. We’re going to hang curtains over the double doors to the dining room. You see a lot of boxes and bins, and that’s the way life is here. There’s a recycling bin, a temporary file, and 2 bins, 1 basket, and 1 bag full of stuff to scan. Welcome to the digital age, yeah?

So, what do you think?
