I know, it’s about time, right? The holidays were busy busy busy, and we all got sick, and now we’re back in add-on mode.
We were supposed to go to an adults-only party this New Year’s Eve, but our neighbor and baby-sitter got sick. It was probably our fault too. So, we ended up crashing a party that some of our other friends were invited to. Max was more upset than I was about it. I didn’t realize how much he needed a break from children. All parents need a break sometimes, and Jack was off school for 2 weeks, and sick for most of that time, and while he was sick, he wanted Daddy. (Sometimes he wants Mommy, but this time, Daddy.)
Nevertheless, we managed to have a fun New Year’s Eve. We brought our Guitar Hero game (an early present to Jack from Max’s parents) and the adults and the kids played. Now everyone wants it. I guess we started a trend!
Jack and his friends actually stayed up ’til midnight. We were very happy to have so many friends to spend time with this year.
Jack went back to school on the 3rd. He’s not enjoying waking up early again, but does seem to enjoy being at school. I’m just marveling over the fact that he’s going to be FIVE! My baby boy. Wow.
I was going to add a bunch of photos, but the only good ones I have are of the adults, and no one really wants to see them. I know the people who read this are here to see Jack. So, here’s one of Jack and his friends playing Guitar Hero. They only knew two songs – “Fortunate Son” and “We’re Not Gonna Take It”. They played them approximately 872 times. But Jack was happy, and the adults were playing Taboo, in which the women totally smoked the guys. A good time was had by all!
