When Good Things Happen to Good People, One Year Later

Just over one year ago, my friend Kellie took me to see The Police. It was the best time I’d had in a long time.
One month later, I posted that Kellie had created a flag with Stewart Copeland’s (drummer in The Police for those who aren’t rock-savvy) logo on it. She did so because she belongs to a forum, and wanted a way for anyone in the forum to find one another easily. The flag was to be shipped all over the world. I wrote that Stewart actually saw the flag when Kellie was in Cleveland, and he gave her the “flag point”.
Kellie has the tendency to fall off the face of the earth (not that I’m one to talk), but I did hear from her in March, when she told me that the flag was still going.
Yesterday, I got an email from her:

Hey, sweetheart.
I’m in London right now, but I just read about the fires going on in Northern CA.
Are you kids all right?

I told her yes, and asked what was going on.
She pointed me to her new blog and a several page narrative on how she somehow got to say “I’m with the band” and mean it.
Somehow, my wonderful friend Kellie got to go to Belfast and hang with Stewart Copeland.
I still don’t know how. I still don’t know exactly why. But I am so happy for her. Because if anyone on this earth deserves to be happy, it’s Kellie. And if you have a moment to click the link to the picture, I share it because Kellie looks so happy and so beautiful. It’s really great to see your friend have a dream come true. I know, it sounds cheesy, and as an English major, Kellie will probably clock me for the Disneyesque line, but it’s the best way I can sum up how I feel.
Yay Kellie!

Yeah, always had a thing for Mr. Copeland, but didn’t get to see the show because the tickets were out of our budget. Lucky girl!
